Staff Testimonial

I have been working for SAC since 2008 and it has become a deeply woven element of myself and family life. I have learned how to make decisions effectively as a teacher, manager and parent. I have learned how to have difficult conversations with grace, respect, and integrity. Being a leader is a great responsibility and a role that must be taken seriously with a lighthearted approach in order to relate to others. It is through the leadership of The Arts Connection that I have become who I am today.

As a new staff member, I’ve found my onboarding here to be warm and positive. Leadership has been respectful and supportive and is always available to give me advice or direction when I’m unsure about something. Feeling welcome and getting positivity and support from leadership is something that I admire, so that has been a good impact on my first couple of months at The Arts Connection.

I think the Arts Connection leadership embodies the Canadian spirit of inclusivity, empathy and  community. Our staff is from all over the world and everyone loves working here because there is mutual respect and camaraderie. Linda has always led by example and I always see her taking the time to greet every staff member in the kitchen no matter how busy she is.

The school’s participation in multiple community outreach programs – Reach to Teach, PJ Drive, Bake Sales etc. is inspiring and fulfilling for the employees that participate in it too and also empowers them to contribute towards additional causes they relate to in their personal lives.

I also love how the management doors are open for employees going through difficult times and we are all encouraged to step in and help out. This provides each of us with a sense of worth and makes us feel fortunate to be working for a company that cares so much for their employees.

I have taught at The Arts Conservatory for about 20 years, being a part of the evolution and development of the music school to its current status. Members of the music faculty employed by The Arts Conservatory fits very well with the overall vision and values of the school’s cultural and community objectives.

I have had the privilege of being assigned students to help in the continuance of their music education to as high a level as possible, commensurate with their respective talents and abilities; but all the while reinforcing my pedagogical strengths and musical objectives for each student.

I have worked at The Arts Conservatory for 12 years. The teachers have a deep passion for the arts and it’s clear in the art work you see in the hallways, the music you hear floating out of the studios and the joy you see on the faces of the dances.

The mangers are so friendly and approachable in person, through email and on the phone. There are opportunities for full-time and part-time employee positions,  as well as flexibility to work as a contractor. The beautiful colors, sounds and friendly faces make it a happy place to work.
