FAQ

HOW MUCH DO LESSONS COST? HOW DO I PAY?

Lessons range from $104 – $138 per month for 30-minute lessons, $156 – $207 per month for 45-minute lessons, and $208 – $276 per month for 1-hour lessons, depending on the teacher that best fits your child’s needs and level.

We accept payment monthly or in full for the year (46 lessons, September to August) and take both Pre-Authorized Debit and Credit Card as available payment methods.

AT WHAT AGE CAN MY CHILD START MUSIC LESSONS?

We recommend starting private piano lessons at age 4 or older. For violin, guitar, ukulele, voice and drum lessons, it will depend on the individual child’s motor skills and focus, but we recommend a student be at least 5 years old before trying these instruments. Our four-lesson trial package is a good way to give an instrument a try and find out if your child is ready!

For students ages 3-4 we also offer Mini Melody Makers Class as a starting point before they are old enough for private piano lessons.

Piano: 4+ years old

Violin/Ukulele: 5+ years old

Guitar/Drums/Voice: 8+ years old

WHAT PIANO TEACHING METHODS DO YOU OFFER AT THE ARTS CONSERVATORY?

All our piano teachers who teach beginner students are certified Kelly Kirby Method teachers. We start all of our beginner students with the Kelly Kirby method in an effort to lay down a strong foundation of music where there is an emphasis on teaching sight-reading and ear training alongside technical piano skills and pieces. For more information on Kelly Kirby, you can visit their website.

After graduating from the book 4 Kelly Kirby program, or if the student enrolls in lessons having already had previous experience, we continue their piano education with other methods such as RCM and Faber & Faber. Our teachers will best be able to determine the best method for your child as they progress through lessons.

Methods for other instruments vary depending on the student’s age and goals. Our teachers are able to work with both parents and students to find the best fit for their needs.
