Dance Training Designed for Athletes to Develop Artistic SkillsCreating Artistic Athletes
At The Arts Conservatory, we offer lessons designed for athletes in figure skating, ice dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, artistic swimming, and other artistic or performance-based sports. These athletes already have strength, discipline, and competitive focus. Dance training helps refine their movement quality, artistry, and presentation so their routines look as strong as their technical skills.
Our programs are flexible and customized to fit competition schedules, off-ice or cross-training needs, and individual performance goals.
Training Options
Private Lessons
One-on-one instruction tailored to the athlete’s specific needs, such as ballet technique, flexibility, posture, performance quality, or choreography.
Semi-Private Lessons
One-on-one instruction tailored to the athlete’s specific needs, such as ballet technique, flexibility, posture, performance quality, or choreography.
Build-Your-Own Class
Create a custom class for your training group, club, or team. Choose your style, schedule, and focus areas and we will arrange a dedicated teacher and studio space to suit your needs.

Why Dance Training Matters for Athletes
Stronger Technique and Posture
Ballet builds alignment, core strength, and control, which lead to cleaner lines, better balance, and more efficient movement.
Better Extension and Flexibility
Dance improves turnout, leg extension, and overall flexibility, helping athletes achieve more elegant positions and higher artistic scores.
Musicality and Timing
Athletes learn to move with the music rather than simply count steps, improving performance quality and presentation scores.
Performance Confidence
Dance develops stage presence, expression, and storytelling, all of which are key factors in judged artistic sports.
Injury Prevention
Proper dance technique strengthens stabilizing muscles, improves balance, and promotes safer movement patterns.
Why Ballet?
Ballet is the technical foundation of most artistic sports. It develops posture, coordination, and body awareness that directly transfer to spins, jumps, transitions, and choreography.
Choreography Support
Our faculty can assist with competition and performance choreography, including program development, off-ice movement training, step sequences and transitions, performance polish, and audition or showcase routines. We work collaboratively with coaches to ensure choreography aligns with competition requirements and the athlete’s strengths.
